The Gorman-Rupp O Series® pumps are designed for long-term efficiency and durability, making them ideal for petroleum handling, chemical processing, and clean liquid transfer applications. With easy maintenance, minimal moving parts, and adaptable configurations, the O Series® ensures dependable performance.
The O Series® is a range of high-efficiency, self-priming centrifugal pumps designed for clean liquids. Originally developed for petroleum products, the pumps feature a straight-in suction design without a check valve — providing better performance with fewer moving parts. Available in 2″ (50 mm), 3″ (75 mm), 4″ (100 mm), and 6″ (150 mm) discharge sizes.
O Series pumps are designed for clean liquids without significant solids content. Typical fluids include petroleum products, solvents, irrigation water, and other clean process fluids. Maximum solids passage is 18 mm, depending on the model.
The O Series has a straight-in suction without a suction check valve, which reduces entrance restrictions and improves performance with clean liquids. The 80 Series includes a suction check valve and an open impeller designed for mild solids handling. The O Series is optimized for clean fluid transfer with higher head capabilities — up to 122 m.
Max capacity: 306 m³/h (85 l/s). Max head: 122 m. Max solids: 18 mm. Pump sizes: 2″ (50 mm), 3″ (75 mm), 4″ (100 mm), 6″ (150 mm). Actual performance depends on the specific model.
2″ models: O2C, O2D, O2E, O2K
max capacity up to 32 m³/h (9 l/s)
max head up to 26 m.
3″ models: O3A, O3B, O3C, O3E, O3F, O3H, O3J
max capacity up to 112 m³/h (31 l/s)
max head up to 96 m.
4″ models: O4A, O4B, O4C
max capacity up to 176 m³/h (49 l/s)
max head up to 122 m
6″ model: O6B
max capacity 306 m³/h (85 l/s)
max head 75 m.
O Series pumps are available in Aluminum, Cast Iron, and Ductile Iron, depending on the model. The material choice depends on the application and fluid compatibility. Consult the factory for material recommendations based on your specific medium.
O Series pumps create a pressure reduction on the suction side, which allows atmospheric pressure to push the liquid into the pump. Before first use, the pump casing must be filled with liquid through the fill port. After initial priming, the pump retains enough liquid in the volute to re-prime automatically on subsequent starts.
All O Series pumps feature a balanced, enclosed, multi-vane impeller for peak efficiency. Copper alloy or aluminum high-efficiency enclosed impellers are standard. Other materials are available for specific applications.
Pedestal mounted (flexible coupling to a power source), close-coupled (directly on an electric motor), engine driven (diesel), engine driven utility (compact portable unit with gasoline engine), and power take-off/PTO (gear-reducer models for vehicle mounting on refueling and water transfer trucks).
Yes. O Series PTO (power take-off) pumps are specifically designed for vehicle mounting. Their compact design enables installation between the cross members of a chassis frame on refueling and water transfer vehicles. Sizes range from 2″ (50 mm) to 3″ (75 mm), with max capacity up to 400 GPM (25 l/s) and max head up to 444′ (134 m).
Petroleum product transfer and off-loading, fuel delivery at airports and bulk plants, dust control water supply at mines and construction sites, drip irrigation systems, solvent handling, and general clean liquid transfer.
The O Series is designed for clean liquids. The pumps can pass small solids (up to 18 mm depending on the model), but they are not intended for wastewater or fluids with significant solid content. For applications requiring solids handling, consider the Gorman-Rupp 80 Series, Super T Series®, or Super U Series®.
The standard O Series is suitable for petroleum products and solvents. For volatile or hazardous liquids requiring explosion-proof certification, consult Gorman-Rupp Europe about specific material and sealing configurations for your application. ATEX certifications are available upon request.
O Series pumps have few moving parts, which makes them easy to maintain and service. The straightforward construction reduces the time and cost of routine maintenance.
Gorman-Rupp Europe, based in Waardenburg (Netherlands) and Namur (Belgium), supports customers across Europe with local assembly, testing, and distribution. Warranties up to 60 months. Training available via the Gorman-Rupp Academy.
For application-specific advice, share your requirements (flow rate, head, medium, solids content, installation type) and Gorman-Rupp Europe will recommend the right configuration.
